Fern Street Reconstruction

Description

Improve Fern Street between Knik-Goose Bay Road and Fairview Loop, creating an upgraded north-south collector route and pedestrian pathway.

Key features include:

  • Upgrading Fern Street to collector-level standards, including shoulders and a separated pathway.

  • Replacing the existing culvert at Cottonwood Creek with a wider fish passage culvert.

  • Enhanced drainage throughout the project limits.

Phase 1, from Knik-Goose Bay Road to Mint, went out to bid for construction and is anticipated to start this season. Future phase 2 is dependent on funding and right-of-way.
